Michael Miller

CrossFit Level 1 Certified Coach

CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Certification

Michael has been active most of his life including participating in Tae Kwon Do throughout high school and college. While in college at the University of Oklahoma, Michael began to participate in inter-mural sports such as soccer and basketball. He was an American Red Cross Lifeguard and Swim instructor during his college years. Michael also began to pursue weight lifting and working out at the good old fashioned YMCA. He didn't have a clue how to program or an idea how nutrition effected fitness results. Muscle magazines and the 'buff guys' at the local gym were Michael's sources for fitness. After years of following poor recommendations and advice from those sources, Michael realized he needed to change up his approach to fitness. At the same time he came to this realization, the movie 300 came out and Michael was amazed by the body transformations of the actors. He researched the fitness programs of the actors in the movie and he came across CrossFit. Michael started his true journey for ultimate fitness with CrossFit 405 on it's opening day in November 2009. Since then, Michael has transformed his body, mind, and spirit through the knowledge and skills gained through CrossFit. He is driven to help others to achieve their fitness goals through CrossFit practices and methods. He is passionate about diet and nutrition, specifically by following the Paleo Diet. Michael received his CrossFit Level 1 Certification in April 2011 at CrossFit Strong in Dallas, TX. Michael will receive his CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Certification in October 2011.

CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Certification

Brett is a native of Oklahoma, growing up on a farm outside of Oklahoma City.  He has been involved in athletics since a young age, starting with baseball, soccer, competitive swimming, and wrestling.  In high school he was a four-sport athlete competing in football, wrestling, track, and powerlifting.  After graduating he went on to Oklahoma State University where he wrestled before sustaining a knee injury causing him to leave wrestling behind.  After several years of not playing competitive sports he joined the Oklahoma City Rugby Club and remained active until taking a job in Tulsa.  In 2003, he was transferred to Seattle, WA where he began taking fighting classes.  Always a lifter and traditional gym rat, he was introduced to CrossFit by some of the fighters.  In 2004 he started training at CrossFit North in Seattle.  Not totally convinced by this new type of training he continued to keep the traditional gym setting as part of his routine.  In 2006 he returned to Oklahoma City and found CrossFit OKC.  Still not totally convinced he worked out a few times before returning to the gym.  Soon after he and some people from his company began doing the main site workouts of the day he was finally hooked.  In 2008, Brett attended a CrossFit Level 1 certification at CrossFit GSX, and found CrossFit 405 in June of 2011, and now proudly calls it home.
