It’s easy to tell when someone has true grit and commitment when they consistently show up to the 5:30AM class! Julie is one of those people!

Since starting CrossFit 405  in May of 2018, Julie has absolutely loved being a part of the community, specifically the 5:30AM class. She said she has met the best people and best coaches and feel like they are family.

As a runner before starting CrossFit, she was becoming bored with her routine. She said that CrossFit is a perfect fit with her Type A personality, one of the best decisions she has ever made. She said, “The on-ramp classes were definitely a challenge. I had never done a burpee before. HA! But I loved how it challenged my body. I knew I would be hooked by the 3rd day.”

When we asked her what the main differences were before starting at CrossFit 405 and today, she said, “CrossFit was the best decision I have ever made. I have more energy. I feel stronger. It has given me confidence in every aspect of my life. It was the perfect fit for my personality. I am in the best shape of my life at 53. My children are wanting to do Crossfit. They are very proud of me and that means so much.”

We are very proud of Julie and her accomplishments at CrossFit 405. The joy, passion, and excitement she brings to our community, along with the willingness to push through tough workouts and receive feedback from the coaches, is exactly what we’re looking for at CrossFit 405.

Why did you start CrossFit?

A friend told me about CrossFit 405 and I was intrigued. I did my on-ramp classes and was hooked. I was a runner before CrossFit and was getting bored with it. CrossFit is a perfect fit with my type A personality. And, I love my 5:30 am class. I have met the best people there that I feel like they are family 

Tell us about your experience as a member at CrossFit 405? What's it been like?

CrossFit is a perfect fit with my type A personality. And, I love my 5:30 am class. I have met the best people there and I feel like they are family. They have the best coaches too. Everyone is so supportive. I just love it!

Take us back to when you first started CrossFit. Tell us what that was like in the beginning?

What's different for you now? How have things changed for you since starting CrossFit?

What specific goals have you accomplished since starting CrossFit?

I was a runner before CrossFit and was skinny with no muscle tone really. I now am so defined and strong. I did the Lurlong Challenge and loved it. I have always tried to eat healthy and now I eat better than I ever have. I love the endorphins I get with crossfit. I do not take any medications for anything. I have perfect cholesterol and blood pressure. This of course because of crossfit and healthy eating habits.

What was the hardest part or the biggest obstacle you faced along the way?

Looking at the daily workouts and thinking that looks so tough. But, then you go and you conquer it. That’s the BEST feeling.

Has it been worth it? Why or why not?

Absolutely!! Best decision ever. I am hooked.
