I was introduced to CrossFit in 2015 when my husband was an OPEX client. We moved to OKC in 2016 and found our CrossFit home at CrossFit 405. Later that year I was invited to do my first team competition and it was then I saw how special CrossFit was. There is something about the CrossFit community where your gym starts to feel like family. It makes the days when you don’t feel like going to the gym a little easier because you will be surrounded by amazing like-minded people
Christmas 2011 we were in Hawaii visiting family. I had a wonderful time, but upon returning home and looking through photos from the beach I decided that I needed to stop living like I was still in college and take my health a little more seriously. I joined the Golds Gym next to my apartment and got a personal trainer to keep me accountable. Little did I know that he would start me on my path to a healthier life and later become my husband. When we came to OKC and joined CrossFit 405 it was intimidating. I didn't feel as "fit" as everyone else, and I was not confident in my capabilities (especially Olympic lifting). They say comparison is the thief of joy, but with a leaderboard, it was hard not to compare. It was during the CrossFit Open in 2016 that my mind began to change. I saw people get so many “firsts” during the open, proving they were more capable than they thought. The open also gave them some idea of how “fit” they were and created goals for the next year. I decided to sign up for my first Open in 2017 and have not looked back.
I became a coach to help others achieve things they didn't think were possible. We are capable of incredible feats, but sometimes we need others to help us combat our self-doubt and fears. I want to be part of your journey to success and be there to celebrate each success with you.
